"5 DIMENSIONS OF SELASSIE"

MAY 5th 1941, Haile Selassie returned to Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia after a 5 year exile. Militarily astute, Selassie's difficult choice to leave Ethiopia was strategic. In order to defeat a nation, you must capture the king. If the king does not abdicate but rather self exiles (and leaves a government in place with directives and said government is functioning), then you have not won the war. Italy never captured Ethiopia's king or government. 
To commemorate the triumphant return of Selassie, we share a snippet of the poem "5 Dimensions of Selassie" by Empress Black.
